Edit, Extend, Archive and Reopen a Job
Last updated: October 8, 2026
At Maple Hall… summer conference applications close on the 15th. On the 16th Jamie Demo emails Pat Nguyen: the posting is still listed but "Apply" is greyed out. Pat Nguyen extends the deadline a week.
Most job changes happen without taking the posting down. Click Edit on the job's page in Recruitment to change its details, dates or rounds, applications close on their own at the end of Job Application Dates, and Archive pulls the job off the student Jobs board when hiring is over. An archived job can be brought back with Activate.
Editing suits a posting that is right except for a field or a date: extend the application window, push out the decision date, correct the compensation. Archiving is for a job no one should find anymore, such as a hiring season that has ended. Students who already applied keep seeing the job and their application in either case.
Edit a live job
Open the job's page and click Edit. Recruitment offers three entry points: Edit Job Details, Edit Job Application and Edit Rounds. Pick the view that holds your change, make it, and save. The job's page shows the new information once the save completes.
What happens when applications close
Applications close automatically at the end of Job Application Dates, but the posting stays listed on the student Jobs board until the end of Job Posting Publication Dates. A student who opens the posting after the application end date sees "Application Ends … (Ended)" and a disabled Apply button.
The disabled button's tooltip still says "Applications are not yet open for this job", even after applications have closed. The "(Ended)" label is the accurate one, so check it first when a student reports that "Apply" is greyed out on a posting that should be closed.
Students who already applied keep seeing the job and their application after it closes.
Extend the application window
Open the job's page, click Edit, set a later end date for Job Application Dates, and save. Anyone who matches the job's applicability tags can apply again straight away.
Archive a job
On the job's page, click Archive, then confirm the Archive Job … dialog, which asks "Are you sure you would like to archive this job?". Archived jobs leave the student Jobs board, and the job's buttons disappear for students.
Reopen an archived job
Go to Jobs and tick Show archived to list archived jobs; Candidates has the same switch. Open the archived job and click Activate to reopen it.
There is no way to copy a job
Recruitment has no duplicate or copy action. Next year's posting is created as a new job, reusing the same application and feedback forms.
Where to verify the result
The job's page shows where things stand: the new details and dates after an edit, and an archived flag with an Activate option once the job is archived. The student Jobs board reflects every change: the posting lists until its publication end date, shows "(Ended)" once applications close, and disappears entirely while archived.
