Create an Admin Profile

Last updated: October 5, 2026

Important: Your institution controls system access through SAML configuration. Creating an admin profile does not guarantee that the user will be able to log in through Single Sign-On (SSO). If a staff member experiences SSO-login issues, they should contact your institution’s IT department for assistance with SSO permissions.

Admin profiles are created for any staff member who needs access to the admin portal, regardless of whether they are included in your institution’s SIS integration. These profiles may be used for a range of campus partners, such as residential life staff, public safety officers, finance personnel, admissions representatives, or others who require access to housing operations.

Creating an admin profile allows a user to log in to the admin portal, but creating a profile alone does not grant system access. Each admin must also be assigned a role that defines what sections of the platform they can view or manage.

Create an Admin Profile

Navigate to the Profiles section of the Admin Portal.

Click Add Profile to open creation options.

Select Add Admin.

Complete the required fields Name and Email.

Note: Be sure to use the email address the staff member will use for authentication.

Optionally, enter a SIS ID, Phone Number, or Date of Birth.

Select a role from your list of admin role types.

Note: If no role is assigned now, one can be added after profile creation.

Click Create Admin.

Once created, the profile will now populate in your Profiles data table. You can view the assigned role directly from the table.

The profile will display the Admin label and have the ability to access the admin portal.

Manage or Update Admin Profiles

Admin access isn’t static. As staff responsibilities change, their access to the admin portal can change too. You can update an existing admin’s role to expand or restrict their permissions, or revoke portal access altogether if they no longer need it — whether due to a departmental shift, role change, or departure from the institution.
