The Help Articles List: Status, Readers and Helpful Votes

Last updated: October 8, 2026

At Maple Hall… by Wednesday Sam wants to know whether anyone read the radiator article, and whether it helped.

The Help articles list shows every article your school has written, with its Status, the people who opened it in the last 30 days, and the share who said it helped. Read it to tell which articles are working and which need another look.

Before you start

The list is on the Help articles page under Support in the admin menu. You need the Manage help-center articles permission, and the help center has to be switched on for your school by Housing Cloud.

The columns

The list has eight columns: Article, Category, Audience, Placement, Readers 30d, Helpful, Last published and Status.

What Status shows

An article is Draft, Published or Changes pending. Changes pending marks a published article whose edits you have not published yet. The Category, Audience and Placement columns show the settings saved on the draft, so an article whose settings you changed but have not published shows the new values here.

Filter by status and audience

Chips above the list filter by status and by audience. Each chip is on or off: click it to switch it on, click again to switch it off. Status chips match the three statuses, and audience chips match the article audience settings, such as Student staff only. Your chip choices are kept in the page address, so going back keeps them.

Sort the list

Click a column header to sort by that column. Click again for the other direction, and a third time to go back.

Readers 30d

Readers 30d counts the people who opened the article in the last 30 days. Each person counts once, however many times they opened it.

Helpful

Helpful is the share of the people who answered "Was this article helpful?" who said Yes. The column is blank until someone answers. Residents never see this number.

Find an article without search

There is no search box on this list yet. Sort by Category or Last published to bring the article you want to the top.

Act on a low Helpful score

A low Helpful share means the residents who read the article did not find it useful. To put the article in front of residents when they need it, suggest it on the request types it answers: you pick those types in the article settings, described in Choose Who Sees an Article and Where It Appears.

Good to know

  • Search in the help center is simple: English only, published articles only, at most 25 results. Image descriptions aren't searched, and this admin list has no search box.
