Overview of Entities

Last updated: October 5, 2026

In Housing.Cloud, entities refer to the core data objects that administrators manage to streamline housing operations. These include profiles, applications, residents, buildings, rooms, and other key elements of the housing system. Entities are the foundation for categorizing, organizing, and managing housing data effectively.

Types of Entities

Profiles: Represent individual users, such as students or staff, containing personal and contact information.

Applications: Capture housing requests and preferences submitted by students.

Residents: Reflect active occupants currently assigned to housing.

Tasks: Track and manage actionable items, such as maintenance requests, assignments, or follow-ups.

Inventory Items: Represent physical inventory (beds, keys, buildings), organized for efficient assignments and reporting.

Assigning Tags to Entities

Tags are a powerful way to categorize and organize entities in Housing.Cloud. By assigning tags to profiles, applications, residents, buildings, rooms, or tasks, administrators can streamline processes, enhance reporting, and create tailored workflows.

Bulk Actions on Entities

Bulk actions save time by allowing you to manage multiple entities simultaneously. From assigning tags and updating statuses to applying filters and performing other administrative tasks, bulk actions streamline workflows and reduce manual effort.

Using Filters to Sort Entities

Filters allow administrators to quickly sort and identify specific entities based on defined criteria. Whether you’re looking for residents with specific tags, applications with certain statuses, or tasks assigned to a particular staff member, filters make it easy to find the data you need.
