Configure the Application Phase

Last updated: October 5, 2026

The application phase allows you to set the specific time period during which students can submit their housing applications. By defining a clear start and end date, you ensure students know when they can apply and avoid submissions outside the designated period. The application phase is a required phase in the housing cycle, alongside move-in and move-out phases, ensuring a structured and consistent process for all students. You will not be able to create a housing cycle with an application.

Set Phase Dates

Click on the Begin Date field to set the date and time when applications will open for students. This marks the start of the application window.

Click on the End Date field to specify the date and time when the application period will close. This marks the deadline for submitting applications.

Choose your desired start and end dates. Once done, these dates will define the application period.

Next Step: Configure Selection and Move-In Phases

To apply your configurations, click Save if editing an existing cycle or Next to continue setting up a new cycle.

After configuring the application phase, the next steps depend on your housing process. You may choose to set up a Roommate Selection Phase (optional) to allow students to select their own roommates, a Room Selection Phase (optional) to define how students choose their housing assignments, or proceed to configuring the Move-In and Move-Out Phases (required) to establish structured arrival and departure dates.
