Add Media to Inventory Items

Last updated: August 28, 2026

When you first load your housing inventory into Housing.Cloud, each room type comes with default images. You can easily replace these with more specific and personalized media for each inventory item, such as Buildings, Rooms, Suites, and Beds. This customization helps give residents a clearer and more engaging view of their future spaces, enhancing their overall experience.

Review and Manage Media

Click Inventory from the navigation panel and select your inventory category.

Select the inventory item you would like to add media to.

Click Images or scroll down to review previously added media or upload new media to the selected inventory item.

Click Add Media to access media upload options.

Media can be added to an inventory item either by File Upload or via Link.

Add Media as a File Upload

Media files uploaded from your computer must be selected manually. To upload multiple images at once, click Add Another File. Click the trash icon to remove the selected image.

Click Save to complete the upload and add the media to the inventory item.

Maximum File Size: The maximum file size allowed for uploaded images is 4 MB. Images larger than this may fail to upload or cause performance issues.

Add Media via Link

Media added via an external link is hosted on third-party platforms, allowing you to incorporate a variety of media formats. When adding linked media, tag the content as a 360° Tour, Video, Floor Plan, or Image to categorize it properly. After adding the File URL, enter a custom identifier in the File Name field.

Click Save to complete the upload and add the media to the inventory item.

Remove Media from an Inventory Item

To remove a media item, click on the media item you wish to remove.

Click Delete to remove it permanently from the inventory item. Be sure to keep a copy of the media if you want to re-upload it, as this action cannot be undone.

Set Primary Media

Click on the media item you want to set as the primary image.

Click Make Primary to confirm your selection.

The primary image will now appear as the first image seen within both the inventory and the Resident Portal.
