Stop, delete or auto-delete a Test Drive
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Test Drives clean up in three ways: Stop simulation just leaves the portal, Delete test profile removes the test data immediately, and the Auto-Delete Schedule removes it automatically. The source student is never changed by any of them.
Stop simulation: leave the portal, keep the data
Stop simulation sits at the bottom of the Test Drive panel. It ends your impersonation session and closes the simulated portal, but the test profile and its data stay in place. An authorized user with impersonation permission can impersonate the [TEST] profile again later from their admin profile.

Delete test profile from the panel
Delete test profile (or Delete test group when roommates were copied) sits next to it. The dialog lists the affected test profiles and warns that applications, residencies, transactions, meal-plan assignments, and cloned companion data belonging to those profiles will also be removed. Type delete to confirm.

Run Teardown from the admin profile
The same deletion is available from the admin portal: open the [TEST] profile, click the … Profile actions button, and choose Run Teardown in the Test Drive group at the bottom of the menu. The dialog warns that the Test Drive profile and all its associated test data will be permanently deleted, and that companion test profiles in the matching group will also be removed.

What gets removed
Deleting or tearing down a test profile removes its applications, residencies, transactions, meal-plan assignments, and cloned companion profiles. The original source profile will not be modified.
Auto-delete
The Auto-Delete Schedule you set in the wizard's Teardown step (24 hours by default) deletes the test profile automatically. The schedule is checked every 15 minutes, so a test profile can last up to 15 minutes past its scheduled time. When auto-delete runs, a notification confirms the profile has been torn down.
Cleanup is automatic but not instant. If a test profile disappears while a colleague is still testing, check whether its auto-delete time passed: they will need a new test drive.
