SFTP Configuration

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Housing.Cloud leverages AWS VPCs to provide a secure and robust file transfer service.

Configuration Process

  1. Housing.Cloud creates the necessary infrastructure, roles, and permissions within AWS and the Product

    1. The clients username will be the same as their custom tenant name (i.e. the url subdomain)

      1. E.g. https://sftp-demo.housing.cloud -> sftp-demo is the username

  2. Client generates a 4096 RSA key pair and shares with Public Key with Housing.Cloud

  3. Housing.Cloud completes the Client role creation with the Client's Public Key

  4. [Optional] Client configures IP allow-list policies to enable communication between the Client's infrastructure and Housing.Cloud's infrastructure.

  5. Client tests connection

Server Structure

Each client will have a sequestered repository in S3 that only their user account can access (note: all access attempts are logged and malicious behavior is automatically flagged). Within that repository, there will be two sub-directories: egress and ingress.

  • The egress folder will contain all files sent from Housing.Cloud, with the intent of being ingested by a Client process.

  • The ingress folder should contain all files sent from the Client, with the intent of being ingested by a Housing.Cloud process.

Server Configuration

  • The IP of the load balancer is: 52.55.181.1

  • The access endpoint is:s-5cf7f4e3de784d6c9.server.transfer.us-east-1.amazonaws.com

File Format

  • Our system can accept/produceCSV files. The file format must abide by a naming convention of: {datatype short name}_yyyy_mm_dd_{uuid}.csv

    • The UUID is necessary to prevent update behavior if a subsequent file is uploaded on the same day

  • The contents of the CSV files should match the column names as specified in the Integrations section

Generic SFTP Configurations:

These values can be set in the Integration Configuration Data Mappings object.

  • useStaticFileName: If set to TRUE, the file produce will not have a timestamp in the filename and will only be {datatype short name}.csv

    • Example: occupancy.csv

  • omitHeaderRow: If set to TRUE, the file will not contain a header row
