Create and Manage Tags

Last updated: August 28, 2026

Tags are a flexible tool that help housing administrators organize and make sense of the various data in their system. Before creating a tag, you must first create a tag category to associate it with. Learn more about creating tag categories here. This guide explains how to create, edit, archive, and delete tags in the admin portal, enabling efficient management of your data.

Create a Tag

Click Tags from the Setup section of the admin portal.

The tag overview page provides you quick access to all previously created tags.

Click New Tag to begin creating a tag.

Tags include key characteristics to align with your process needs.

  • Tag Name: A descriptive name for the tag.
  • Tag Color: The color the tag will display as across the platform.
  • Tag Category: Assign the tag to a category for organization.
  • Tag Visibility: Specify if the tag is public or admin-only. Tags not publicly visible will only show on the admin portal, while publicly visible tags will also show on the resident portal.
  • Applicability: Define the type of entity the tag can be applied to. Tags can only be used with entities in their designated applicability.

After adding the required fields, click Create to save the new tag.
